Ashley, Owner, Port Wakefield Bakery South Australia2017-03-25T01:08:33+00:00

I have been utilising ChillClean Coolroom Hygiene Solutions in my bakery for many months. I have found that by installing the 24/7 protection of the ChillSafe and MoistureGuard products that not only are my walls and floors much drier than they were previously but my fresh vegetables are lasting noticeably longer and are still crisp! We now have little to no odours within the cool room and no mould growth.
Another positive to having installed the ChillSafe and MoistureGuard systems is that we now only need to have ChillClean sanitise our evaporator unit once every 12 months rather than twice a year and I feel comfortable in the knowledge that no bacteria can grow within the unit between cleans due to the ChillSafe/MoistureGuard 24/7 protection.

Greg Tsai, Operations Manager, Delbridge Group, McDonald’s Restaurants2017-03-25T01:00:38+00:00

“We have been using ChillSafe and FreezerGuard at all four of our McDonald’s restaurants since 2010. These products speak for themselves! Since installing them the ice has clearly stopped building up in the walk in freezers. We also have reduced free moisture in our coolrooms. All salads and fruits within the coolrooms have remained fresher and crisper and there has been a noticeable reduction in odours and cross contamination.
We are committed to the continued use of the ChillClean systems for years to come as they are great products. An added bonus are the electricity cost savings and a significant reduction in the risk to our crew by having removed the slippage hazards on the walls/ceilings and floors in our freezers and coolrooms.”

Dennis Rockley, Disability Services SA2017-03-25T01:00:09+00:00

“We have been utilising the ChillClean systems on site at Disability Services Fullarton for approximately 6 months. We take food safety and OWH& S safety very seriously and are always looking at ways to further improve our risk management strategies.

We engaged ChillClean to clean and sanitise our coolroom evaporator units to eliminate the ability of bacteria to live within the units. We then implemented the ChillClean 24/7 protection of ChillSafe & MoistureGuard products to substantially reduce the risk of bacteria, mould and free moisture entering our cold storage areas.

We also installed the FreezerGuard product in our walk in freezers to reduce the amount of ice forming on the ceiling. During defrost cycles the ice became a slipping hazard for staff as it would melt to the floor.

I am pleased to advise that all products have exceeded our expectations and continue to assist us in maintaining best practice food hygiene and safety standards within our kitchens.

I would not hesitate to recommend the ChillClean products and service to any facility looking to improve their risk management systems.”

Matthias, Head Chef, The Edinburgh Castle Hotel2017-03-25T01:21:32+00:00

“We have been using ChillSafe and MoistureGuard for a couple of months and the most obvious strengths of the products are their ability to reduce strong odours, freshen the cool room air and keep our herbs and some other produce crisper and fresher. An extra bonus with the products is that our chiller unit, which is an older unit, has not iced up since we installed the products, saving us both the time and inconvenience. We are looking forward to continuing to use the ChillSafe and MoistureGuard eco products to reduce our food risk and waste”

Greg, Head Chef, The Benjamin on Franklin Hotel2017-03-25T01:20:02+00:00

“We installed the ChillSafe and MoistureGuard products and after only a couple of months it became obvious that the products really clean the air handling system and manage the moisture, as the condition of the air quality and temperature within the cool room improved, as did the reduction of odours. We also noticed an overall improvement in the quality of the produce, especially fruits and herbs. It is clear to me that these products can help reduce food risk and waste, and we will continue to use the products into the future”

How do you decide how many FreezerGuard filters will be placed in my freezer unit?2015-09-16T02:25:59+00:00

This is generally done by measuring the area of your freezer unit. We may also alter the design quantity based on other factors and observations, such as prevalent moisture levels and products stored in the cold storage area.

Can this be included in the documentation of my food safety programs?2015-05-08T00:20:29+00:00

Yes, most certainly. It is recommended that you include the ChillClean cleaning and sanitation program in your HACCP. If you are unsure what HACCP is, please speak with us and we will assist!

Do you provide any certification for the work undertaken?2015-05-08T00:20:04+00:00

Yes, upon completion of the cleaning and sanitation process we will provide you with a certificate that you can display in your cold storage area which will also show when your unit is next due to be cleaned and sanitised.

Will cleaning help my equipment last longer?2015-05-08T00:19:47+00:00

Yes, when your FDC is not maintained regularly, contaminants such as lint, hair and plastic build up and not only inhibit airflow but also begin to break down the aluminium fins and coils, to a point where they begin to rust and eventually require replacement much sooner than would normally be the case if maintained to a proper standard.

Can you remove mould?2015-05-08T00:19:26+00:00

Yes, our unique sanitation system utilises steam at a temperature above 155 degrees which removes mould and dirt. To prevent the mould from returning we recommend our Chillsafe product to protect your cold storage areas between evaporator cleaning!

Does everything need to be removed from my coolroom?2015-05-08T00:19:02+00:00

No, we may ask you to move items from shelving directly underneath your forced draft cooler however where this is not possible we will cover all stock with plastic drop sheets to ensure we do not contaminate any food items.

How long will it take to clean my unit and is there going to be much disruption to my day to day operations?2015-05-08T00:18:34+00:00

The time taken to clean and sanitise your forced draft cooler will depend on the size and condition of the unit as well as any time taken to remove shelving and stock to get adequate access to the unit. We are always mindful that you have a business to run and strive to be proficient as possible whilst ensuring that our cleaning and sanitation methods are not compromised.

Will your product have any adverse effects on the stock within my cold storage facility?2015-05-08T00:18:11+00:00

No, we will ensure any stock that is nearby to the area that we are cleaning and sanitising is either moved out of the area or covered with plastic drop sheets to ensure no contamination takes place.

Is it safe for my staff to enter the cold storage area whilst you are undertaking your work?2015-05-08T00:17:51+00:00

Yes, our cleaning and sanitation practices are environmentally safe and there is no risk to your employees coming and going from the cold storage area whilst we undertake the cleaning process.

Do you use any chemicals at all?2015-05-08T00:17:31+00:00

Where possible we only use the natural cleaning and sanitation powers of steam. Occasionally when an FDC has been neglected for a long period of time we choose to use small amounts of recommended, food and equipment safe chemicals to move stubborn build ups of contaminants. We will always ensure staff are notified if we are going to be working with any chemical within your cold storage facility.

What do you use to clean the unit?2015-05-08T00:17:07+00:00

Initially we will use a wet/dry vacuum unit to extract as many contaminants as possible. We then utilise steam vapour at a temperature greater than 155 degrees to sanitise and remove any remaining dirt, lint, hair, insects or plastic/paper.

How long does the unit need to remain off?2015-05-08T00:16:40+00:00

We are very conscious of the need for your Forced Draft Cooler to be working to maintain the food safety conditions and temperatures in which you are required to keep your perishables. With this in mind we aim to have the units off for no more than 20 to 30 minutes and where need be we will stop work, turn the unit back on and bring it back down to temperature before returning to finish the remaining cleaning and sanitation. This is especially important for those facilities that have temperature alarms!

Do you require the cold storage facility to be turned off?2015-05-08T00:16:13+00:00

Yes, ideally we would like the fans to be turned off to ensure our safety whilst working on the unit.

What can I do to assist the FreezerGuard filters to work to the optimum level?2015-09-16T02:51:32+00:00

Maintaining door seals, door hinges and evaporator fans will all assist. Dirty evaporators and condensers will also prevent your refrigeration from operating at its optimum, so keeping them clean and unclogged will save you energy and maintenance costs. We will assess your refrigeration and report back to you if any of these problems are evident. However, as a direct result of installing the filters the evaporator will remain dryer and will in turn trap less airborne particles, which in turn will increase its thermal efficiency and result in less cleaning.
